A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding First Aid Management of Dog Bite

Background: Dog bite is a painful, dangerous and threatening situation, which instills fear about the animal. A dog main source of rabies. There are myths misconceptions disease wound management. Practices like application harmful substances turmeric, lime mud problems hindering rabies prevention control. Proper steps need to be taken up control canine This present study was intended assess knowledge regarding first aid management among college students. Materials Methods: non experimental cross sectional survey design adopted in this study. The conducted 70 students Sree Narayana College, Sreenivasapuram, Varkala objectives were find out association between level selected socio-demographic variables.. semi-structured questionnaire used collect data Result: analysed using descriptive inferential statistics. revealed that students, 13 (19%) had poor knowledge, 57 (81%) average none them have good concluded there significant religion, monthly family income.
